I have noticed this too - the problem is the user might not realize this
delayed write (async?) behavior is used and think their files have
finished copying when in fact it hasn't actually started.

I've read through the comments and I don't quite understand: is the
current gaim in the repos supposed to remember the position of the buddy
list or not? Because it doesn't for me.
If this is a bug I'll start a new bug for it (one not relating to the
size which is working fine).

to the wastebasket, but then can't be deleated at all. Retry just brings

The error is recurring, at least when attempting to delete from
nautilus. I can provide any more information if needed.

I am all for bypassing the recycle bin on removable drives, though it seems
like a bit of a deviation from how things work elsewhere (I don't know aboyt
network drives or other not-always-available storage).
How about different delete file dialog box for removable drives with an
checkbox for "B
