Sorry, I'll add some clarification to my last post. The screenshot
shows the first error given. If I then try to cancel out of the
operation, I get the error shown by the original poster who reported
this bug.

Attached is a sample file that causes this on my system.
Steps:
1) Doubleclick file to open with "Movie Player" ie totem.
2) Watch Gnome crash.

I have this issue in Jaunty.
Steps:
1) plug camera into computer via USB
2) Gnome prompts me to open with F-spot or file editor, I choose F-spot
3) F-spot opens and gives me a popup to move files with all files highlighted.
4) I highlight only 1 file, and change location to move them to
/home/use
Here is a video demonstrating the bug. Notice at the end, I can't make
it do anything, it just stays that gray color no matter what.

Okay so this was caused by compiz-fusion and the cube plugin...
BUT another bug caused me to not realize it.
To re-create the bug:
1) have a transparent panel
2) right click on panel, go to propertis
3) view "background" tab
4) Click "none" option - panel changes to some default color.

I have no idea how this happened, but gnome has gotten into a state
where I cannot make my panels transparent. When I right click on a

I have this too. Ubuntu 8.10
I tried disabling compiz, but that did not help.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Places -> connect to server
2) Choose Windows share, connect to a windows share
3) A folder will appear on the desktop for the mounted share
4) Right click on the folder, the "Paste Into Folder"
