I have this too. Ubuntu 8.10 I tried disabling compiz, but that did not help.
Steps to reproduce: 1) Places -> connect to server 2) Choose Windows share, connect to a windows share 3) A folder will appear on the desktop for the mounted share 4) Right click on the folder, the "Paste Into Folder" option flickers. I have attached a video of this.
