Perhaps something went wrong with the upgrade from karmic to lucid.
Recently I did a fresh install on my computer. I've tested again, and
now the video works.

In Ubuntu Hardy none of these 6 removable medias were visible in
places/nautilus until a CD or memory-card was inserted. This gave Ubuntu
