Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

I have 2 CD-/DVD-drives and a USB card-reader with 4 slots.

In Ubuntu Hardy none of these 6 removable medias were visible in
places/nautilus until a CD or memory-card was inserted. This gave Ubuntu
a "clean" look.

In Ubuntu Intrepid all 6 medias show up both in places menu and in
nautilus sidebar, even if none of them can be mounted because of missing
CD/memory-card.

The places-menu is not the biggest problem, since it collects all
removable media into one group (at least when you have 6 of them). In
nautilus sidebar this is a huge problem, since the list gets quite long
if you also use the bookmark-function.

Is this a new expected behavior for Intrepid?
Anyway, I don't think that removable media which can't be mounted should be
visible neither in places-menu nor nautilus sidebar.

Ubuntu release: 8.10
Nautilus package: 2.24.1-0ubuntu1
