That is strange I just use Unity 3d and unity 2d (no classic) with
the default Ambiance theme, I didn't change a thing.
I also did a fresh Ubuntu 11.04 install, so what do I wrong?

My idea was, in instead of making the border size thicker (which looks
less beautiful), you can of source set a kinda of "offset" where you can
resize your window and where not.
Hopefully you can use this...

resize the window

1) I think it is reproducible, because I did twice a fresh Ubuntu 9.04
installation. Onetime with ext4 and with ext3. The problem still exists.
However I haven't try it yet on a other pc/laptop.
