A little note: all power related settings in GNOME weren't "removed" from
GConf, but "moved" from GConf to GSettins/Dconf.
This means you have to install and run dconf-editor instead gconf-editor in

Don't respect /apps/gdm/simple-greeter/exclude GConf key

According to GDM documentation[1] the /apps/gdm/simple-greeter/exclude
GConf key can be used to exclude some users from appears in greeter.
Unfortunately, running the following command, there is no effect (even
restarting gdm service)
sudo -u gdm
Gabor Epiphany in karmic is old 2.26 (Gecko), Epiphany in l10n.gnome.org
is new 2.28 (WebKit)

The folder icons in Places menu disappear
Expected result
Fallback to "folder" named icon if "folder-[audio|video|...]" is not availabl
It now works fine on latest Karmic (version 2.28 for both empathy and
vinagre). OK to close?

Steps to reproduce:
* run gconf-editor with admin priviles, i.e. sudo gconf-editor (or similar)
* choose File > New Defaults Window (or Mandatory)
Current result:
Can't access to any gconf key, the tree on left is closed, clicking on it
Kylea, the nautilus bug was fixed on git.gnome.org, not yet available in
karmic. In fact the status of this bug is Fix Commited, not Fix Released
:)
The shutdown issues, intead, should be now fixed in karmic after kernel
update. At least in my karmic virtual machine.
