I am using an updated Hardy 8.04.1.
I am measuring the memory usage using gnome-system-monitor's "Memory" tab.
At time of writing the applet takes 2.4MB. I just can't see a reason to justify
a >500kb memory usage for such a simple application.

I can confirm this bug on both feisty and hardy using "stock" f-spot.
Camera is set to time zone of Los_Angeles (PDT) and f-spot adds 7 hours
to the images on two unrelated computers.

using command line (dpkg -i .deb), GDbei reported errors.
