This was also happening to me - With a fresh Ubuntu 24.04.01 install.
Logging in Wayland or with "Ubuntu on Xorg" did not make a difference.
I believe it may have something to do with gnome-terminal profiles. I
did not attempt debugging as the problem went away after using dconf to
load my previou
