I have a similar experience, although evolution does not *really* hang, as I
can continue typing the email adress.
If I wait for a while (might be about 30 seconds yes), the contact is found and

for my password. If I run gksu in the terminal to launch it, then it

The reason appears to be a bug in the Empathy client - it is sending

Pedro, there is no System -> Preferences menu in Natty so I'm
transposing the initial example to System Settings "Control Center". The
situation is the same in Natty.
Most applications exit with ESC, for example; About Me, Appearance,
Assistive Technology, Broadcast Accounts, Broadcast Preferences
I checked the Bug IDs, which I should have done before I replied last. This

migrated from GnomeVFS to gvfs/GIO. And this one is about something
else:
@Nikolaus: this happened because gnome migrated (again) the settings for
opening URIs (http:// , ftp:// , magnet:, mailto:, etc). Back in
Maverick, gnome stor
Does anything come up in .xsession-errors when you just press the EMail
button? If there's nothing, then it's most likely not an issue in
evolution but in defined keyboard shortcuts...

AFAIK this should be working in 2.32 since the release of Natty; so I'll

We have a small Ubuntu 10.04 LTS deployment (about 10 seats), with some
home directories mounted on NFS. Even with the face chooser disabled,
gdm still scans every home directory before allowing someone to log in.
If any of the home directories is stalls (because its NFS serve
i'm not upgrading evo atm, my last try (after this one) on another box
(still with 3.1.3) showed a freeze at startup with a stack starting with
gtk3 and ending somewhere in dbus. I don't have the luxury to break all
my desktops.
