After I upgraded ubuntu to 11.04, evolution always hangs up after showing its
window.
When I run it from a terminal, it tells the following error message, then hangs

syntax error a couple lines earlier in the script, which was confusing
the parser. Once I corrected that syntax error, the parser correctly
ignored the comment.

It seems to work OK (after some trouble getting Unity to work) but as soon as I
start the VirtualBox Manager window the X server crashe

I can confirm this as well.
Running Ubuntu 11.04 with Nvidia graphics and there is no shadow when I right
click at the desktop.
Seems to work in Chrome and Firefox, but not Nautilus for example.
Also tried the suggested configureations from ubuntuforums, without any
luck!

open terminal and write :

ThinkPad T500, Natty 64bit: I turned off the screensaver entirely & set
the screen to sleep after 5min. Now it doesn't lock up every time, but
still locks up. Often, the screen will wake up & the GUI will all be
frozen.

I don't think it's a screensaver problem. Even disabling screensaver,
when the screen goes down because of inactivity the screen freezes. In a
tty, if I kill Xorg, the screen restores and I can log in again, but
with a new session and all my work is lost

any browser:
1) Get a copy of your existing one (from
/usr/share/applications/chromium-browser.desktop).
2) Edit the Exec line to add the switch. I added "--new-window".
3) Call the file something like "chromium-browser-new

I think that this is python-gobject misinterpreting the annotations on
the get_children() function. Currently that function is (transfer none)
and it seems that the GList * is getting free'd. The crash is when the
menu is requested over DBus when the menu is requested for the second
time.

It's not entirely certain to me, but, this bug appeared to occur at
about the time I updated my machine to natty from meerkat.
To see if there was corrupting in the local calendar info, I was going
to try to delete the instances of the calendar that I had (I watch 3
Google calendars.

Since the update from a perfect working 10.10 to 11.04, Video playback (Totem,
Banshee, VLC, ...) plays the sound, but displays only a black area. But if i
move the window by moving the title bar of the player, the video plays perfect.
Even if I stop moving it plays perfect
I have tried it with both /apps/gnome-power-manager/lock/blank_screen
and /apps/gnome-power-manager/lock/use_screensaver_settings enabled: the
screen appears to get locked only after the screensaver kicks in, not
when closing the lid.
I have set the lid action to "Blank screen" in gnome-power-pref
@ogra: has this regressed (in Natty)?
Although I have selected "Blank screen" with "When laptop lid is closed" in the
"On AC Power" the screen does not get locked when closing the lid. The same
with the "On Battery Power" tab.

definitely more than an uncheck bug, since this also happens sometimes
when u have to kill the computers power because Ubuntu froze (as happens
several times a day) and upon restart it just forgets things (such as
Firefox Persona, or login sound setting)

the box once to make it stick.
