I remember that several months ago I read how to correct this issue.
There is an option "Use time as policy" in power management settings.
Those settings are accessible somewhere from gconf-editor. There is

clock-applet: clicking on a calend
Not sure if this is your problem or not, bradmont, but I found that the
'Move window to workspace x' shortcuts were the only ones that were
broken. I did not mean to use these anyways though, I wanted to
reconfigure the 'Switch to workspace x' keys.

Try to change the GTK appearance in the system configuration (appearance
of a program) to an other than oxygen-gtk. I use Raleigh and it works
fine!

packages Totem Movie Player regained its video scaling abilities:
Upgraded the following packages:

gstreamer-tools (0.10.32.2-1~lucid2) to 0.10.32.3-1~lucid1

For me the problem also occurred in VirtualBox. On a real PC everything
looks fine.

I was editing gnome-terminal launcher and found that with the line
'OnlyShowIn=GNOME;' present the quicklist would not appear.
Therefore I think it needs to be removed as part of the patch.
