I tried running the dbus-monitor script, and lshal, under kernel
2.6.30-rc6 too.. Same result, ie. identical to Jeremy's post above.
I did this while on battery power, as I think someone else mentioned

I'm having a similar issue when trying to burn either a CD or a DVD ISO.
Brasero apparently starts ok, but when finishing the burn process, it displays

Okay, so I am copying the outputs of 'lspci -vvv' of the three machines,
where I see the beep on shutdown from the other bug:

Dragging the panel with the Alt key works for me in Jaunty, so it sounds
like you're experiencing a separate bug.

I have a gateway MT6711 and it will not suspend or hibernate. The screen
goes somewhat dark and the fan keeps running. I upgraded from 8.10 to
9.04 but the upgrade did not solve the problem.

I was able to add the the Volume Control to a panel and use it. Crash on
removal from panel. No sound after crash - have not rebooted.
