I had to add a build dependency on libxtst to get this to build. There
are some new source files where some of the new code is conditionally
compiled in based on the presence of this library, but it doesn't
compile if it isn't there.

1. Make sure that you ahve installed all updates. There were other
printing-related bugs in Intrepid.
2. If you get nothing out of the printer if you print in large format
and/or high resolution, take Poppler from -proposed. See bug 311982.

Binary package hint: evolution
The image looks to be dis-synchronized horizontally when displayed within an
email with Evolution 2.24.2. The same image is perfectly displayed by Eye of
GNOME 2.24.1 or Firefox 3.0.5.
