mount my 1TB external HDD because DBus times out waiting for a reply.
Even though the mount is eventually successful, it's a large NTFS volume

I set from 100% down to 40% for obvious observe, but the brightness seemed to

I had this problem also on 8.10. I copied wordlist.db from /var/cache
/dictionaries-common/ to /home/username/.bogofilter based on the error
but it still failed. I removed the file and then marked a message as
spam and then not spam and the wordlist.db was created and I have not

I just reproduced the problem with Epiphany (on this web page, no other
tabs opened) and Evince, displaying a 3 pages pdf file.
Note: I cannot reproduce the problem after turning Compiz off and just
using Metacity instead.

Go to: System -> Preferences -> Main Menu (In there navigate to Preferences and
the check File Management)
then
Go to: System -> Preferences -> File Management | Media and then set Photos to
gthumb.
See what happens then.

So after discovering I had no compiler on my system and not wanting to
learn how to install one without a compiler or network access (!!) I
went another route - search the interwebs to find out how to get on the
web WITHOUT network manager -
