I've cherry-picked the patch from upstream and so far my testing seems
to indicate the issue is resolved. I've uploaded a fixed package to my

4.9-0ubuntu1~ppa2 and alsa-lib-1.0.17a-0ubuntu4~ppa1. These will create
an additional ALSA device that is usable when paired. Test it with
