This bug is actually in gstreamer. When pulseaudio is not running, gstreamer fails to fall back on a different output, regardless of the output sink selected in the GNOME preferences. That results in Totem's inability to play anything, printing out the message
** Message: Error: Failed to connect stream: Invalid argument pulsesink.c(487): gst_pulsesink_prepare (): /play/abin/audiosinkbin/audio-sink/bin6/halaudiosink1/autoaudiosink1/autoaudiosink1-actual-sink-pulse ... as noted by the original reporter. You could also say that this bug is in Totem, because Totem should be able to continue playing video even if the audio sink is not working. ** Changed in: gstreamer0.10 (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: linux-lpia-meta => gstreamer0.10 -- ** Message: Error: Failed to connect stream: Invalid argument pulsesink.c(487): gst_pulsesink_prepare (): /play/abin/audiosinkbin/audio-sink/bin6/autoaudiosink1/autoaudiosink1-actual-sink-pulse https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/275216 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gstreamer0.10 in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
