Because of fglrx-related problems, I downgraded the kernel
to2.6.24-19.21. I didn't delete any configuration files or anything,
just purged the 2.6.24-21.23 and installed the 19.21 one. As a result,
Totem works fine. Which makes me think that it's not only a
configuration issue - there should be so

When you want to update a file on a destination that contains less space
than the file that is to be updated (overwritten), nautilus gives you a
error message saying "There is not enough space on the destination".
However, nautilus didn't conside
I've never seen that dialogue pop up. Firefox taking over the FTP
handler sort of "just happens". I'm sure there iis a certain point in
time when it happens, but it definitely happens unknowingly to me; no
dialogue box here.

It's becoming clearer to me now... there IS a folder called pictures on
the drive. In the screenshot I attached above I had moved all folders
into the 'tmp' folder to simplify things for you guys. But I suspect
that I should have unmounted/remounted after moving the files to tmp.

Ubuntu come with Gnome, and therefore has countless programs that rely on the

This simply means you cannot use remote printers (I confirm the bug!) in

Reopening since I am also experiencing this bug.
Just connected to an FTP server with username/password.
Uploading (via copy/paste or dragging) doesn´t work, downloading (via
copy/paste or dragging) works fine.
Tried it with 3 different FTP servers (all with username/password) and all of

Hmm, IMO the point of gnome-keyring is to protect the
passwords/passphrases/encryption keys. I wouldn't suggest allowing an
application to control whether the password is freely readable, no.
But the fact that network-manager has a password stored in gnome-keyring
is not sensitive information. O
