I just did this and the DVD mounted and I was able to burn an ISO using
Brasero!
A quick test suggests that blank DVDs are automounted - presumably till I next
reboot without a blank dvd. Note that I only had mounting problems with DVDs,
CDs are OK. Burner is LG GSA4082B.

This bug is still happening. I am running a 64 bit install of Ubuntu
Hardy, but log in to a Fluxbox window manager (no Gnome Session
running). I have not removed any of the Gnome packages, although many
things typically running in the background in Gnome may not be running
in my Fluxbox session.
I have previously been successful using auto-accept dcc using
Konversation under Kubuntu 8.04. Would any of that package info be
useful?

Same problem, the weird thing is that I can connect to skype and make
phone calls, but not firefox or konqueror works. I cannot ping to a
host other than my gateway, and the nm-applet shows 100% connected.
Probably it's related with route tables not pointing where they should.

Yes, at least Hardy still displays deceptive filenames. I tried this on
my Intrepid installation which unfortunately was a few days old (it
later broke when I updated it, I'll have to investigate that before I

Not sure which way you're handling this, but the bug is still present in
the default document viewer as of today. However, my workaround was to
install the xpdf viewer, and it handles the Japanese without any

This is still the same in Intrepid!
Basically the first time FSpot starts up it sticks all your imported
photos in ~! I have confirmed this on multiple machines including x86_64
as well as i386.
We ship with ~/Pictures but not ~/Photos.
Is ~/Pictures a throw back from gthumb?

I have the same trouble (and it's getting rather irksome). I'm running
a fully updated 'stock' Gutsy with a GeForce 6800 on NVidia drivers. My
monitors are configured as separate X screens.
My Ubuntu-forum searching found another similarly afflicted:

I'm also seeing this problem on Intrepid with 2.23.90 (although I
believe it was present in a previous version as well). I have two IMAP
accounts (gmail and university) and both are experiencing this issue of
not seeing mail in the inbox.
One way to workaround the issue is to open up Folder->Subs
