1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System -> 
About Ubuntu.
Description:    Ubuntu intrepid (development branch)
Release:        8.10

2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy packagename' 
or by checking in Synaptic.
2.23.90-0ubuntu1

3) What you expected to happen
When using File-Open.. I get an open dialog in the last used Directory


4) What happened instead
It gives an error and defaults to the home-directory

Error:
"Error stating file '/home/thomas/file:/home/thomas/a/folder': No such file or 
directory"

This while /home/thomas/a/folder exist. 
to replicate open a image twice via "File-Open.."
