I can't agree with you Sebastien, for two reasons.
First, I can assure you that the incorrect text in .gtk-bookmarks was
created somewhere in the normal use/upgrade of Ubuntu. Neither the end
user nor myself even knew of the existence of this file. I certainly did
not edit it (until directed to do

No, my addon works in firefox 3.0 for sure :-). I have tested it and
additionally others on this thread have said it works as well. It
does not merely modify the check mark! It sets various internal
firefox variable states to disable the offline mode. If it hasn't

I am having the same trouble on my HP 6510b laptop with an HP DVD 840
USB burner. The internal drive gives the same error, but I am not
completely sure it is actually a DVD burner. =) Know issues previously

what is the current state of this ticket? I am confused that it is only
marked as a wishlist because I am effected by this bug every day in
Hardy with active compiz.

but it does not
(The strace is zipped because it's 3.8 MB. Repetitive, though.)
Next I tried to do a backtrace of one of the funny 'time' calls. The
backtrace is done using gedit-dbgsym 2.22.1-0ubuntu1 (There's a slightly
newer version in the repositories, but I've no debug packages for that
one, and the behavior
OK. I'll report this upstream too, but until then I'll dump here all my
diagnostics.
I'm attaching an strace done with "strace -fT -e trace=stat64,time gedit

This has been fixed upstream I think. Try to disable the "dri2" module
in xorg.conf.

Hi Tromod,
First of all thanx for replying back on this. Yes, I get thrown back to the
gdm greeter just after logging in. Attaching the output from /var/log/gdm/0.log
as well. As far as compiz is concerned, no not using it.

I can confirm the same bug on my Ubuntu 8.04, solved by installing the
