Both /var/log/messages and /var/log/syslog doesn't show anything of
interest. If I knew how, I could raise the detail level to debug. I
don't remember how to do that, though...
Anyhow, in the attachement you find logs from both syslog and messages.

Actually, I originally filed this bug against Dapper... In any case,
installing thunderbird solved the problem permanently for me and I'm not
looking back (took about an hour to copy mail around and configure).
It's not perfect, but it's much more stable and has never crashed my
machine.

I upgraded to Edgy this weekend from Dapper. DVD's were working just
fine in dapper and now I'm having general problems in Edgy. I can get
movie DVD's to work with mplayer but not with totem. The output from
the revised script above with the movie DVD in the drive and manually
mounted is

Unless I'm mistaken I haven't seen a .deb with the fix yet. In

the latest version is vino_2.16.0-0ubuntu2.1 and the diff doesn't
contain your patch (which seems to create a version 2.2).
Is the delay normal?

Design issue, but here is a kludge. It looks like awful however. To make this

As far as I know gparted doesn't (for the moment) support LVM, the only way to
install Ubuntu with a LVM support is to use the alternate CD.
And once installed I don't know any graphical tools to play with the LVM.

kill command set up to kill it. As soon as the memory starts to run

appears to be perfectly flat and covering a large area. However, it
actually stops a few pixels away from the screen border.

I use OpenSSH to have quick remote access to my desktop when I'm out
home.
So, I do not intend to run it fulltime. In previous version as Dapper,
after installing OpenSSH, I used to go in System -> Administration ->
Services to disable sshd running at boot.

Not sure if this is a bug at all, but at least it's regression from Dapper.
I have apache2 (+depends) installed and I cannot find apache2 service
listed on services-admin dialog. postfix is listed though and it seems
to have same runlevel config as apache2.
