I'm running the latest edgy, dapper x86. Here are the steps to reproduce:
1) Open a folder in nautilus.
2) Enter right click menu and press new folder.
The folder will not show in the directory until nautilus is refreshed.

Same problem as everyone else, but noticed a strange thing on doing a
"ps -x".
As shown in the attachement, esd and some evolution programs are running
too.
I'm using a fully updated Kubuntu Dapper and never started evolution on
my own will, so I fell that very strange...

Just to add that I never had noticed this before, except today, after
installing eclipse (from the eclipse site and installed in my home
directory) and "toying" around with it some time.
After closing it (and the CPU settled down because I don't have enough
memory nor CPU for eclipse) that's when
my default /etc/profile has nothing like that in it. if this is
something you added to profile it isnt concidered a bug.

Ok, I cracked it. I was getting nowhere and so I decided to reinstall
and then iteratively check if and where it would break. It turns out too
innocent looking lines in /etc/profile are what made gnome-session run
for the hills. I run gentoo on my laptop, I copied that file right over
and it broke

The magicolor_2400W-m2400w.ppd contains *Manufacturer indication "KONICA
MINOLTA", while gnome-cups-manager uses indication "Minolta" which is also used
by Foomatic.
Gnome-cups-manager will match "KONICA MINOLTA" to "Minolta" and look for you
printer model there, since it isn't there it matches

I can confirm this bug with a floppy disk as copy target.
It's not always predictable which files get copied and which don't, but
the copy process is aborted halfway without warning to the user.

1. This bug has been around for some months. Has never been fixed.
2. The newest kernel stable kernel as of this writing: 2.6.17.6 has correct
thermal support but no working sound. Upon boot dmesg says snd: unknown layout
0x53.
