I am also experiencing the same problem with gnome-sound-properties
(not retaining) my default soundcard preference.
The same existed in breezy which never got resolved by a bugfix.
I had to set snd-emu10k1 to index=0 in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base to get it to
be default (card 0) , and snd-cmip
I could not reproduce that. Can dump that?

Behaviour happens every time when atleast one patch applies fine and one fails.
cdbs never unapplies those patches that were merged okay.

I can confirm this disaster. I've apt-get ubuntu-desktop on a kubuntu
powerpc dapper installation. After using evolution for 2 days, now it
crashes at startup and there's no obvious thing I can do to stop it.
After attempting to start evolution about 10 times, then no other app
launches. All crash

This does indeed correct the problem. I apologize for the duplicate. I
should note that this seems to be i915 specific, since that is the
videocard in my laptop. This bug never occured at all on my desktop
which uses a Nvidia GeForce4 440 MX.

Some printer models have more than one driver. After changing the driver you
see still the options from the old driver. Even after closing the properties
dialog and reopen it, the wrong options are displayer. I have to close and

Sorry, I was unclear.
On every non-unix device, USB keys and drives are updated as soon as
possible. There is never a several minute delay before data is written.
No unmount, no file browser, it just works.
If I loose data in my checkbook program (KMyMoney), then Ubuntu and not
the user is broke

While many people are being helpful. I think you fail to 'get it'.
Right now, USB drives are catastrophically broken. A user saying "you
can't use USB devices on Ubuntu" are correct.
