Thanks for your bug report. This is a duplicate of
https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/gthumb/+bug/25016 which is
fixed in Dapper (and if memory serves in breezy-backports).

i knew i had to wait to post the former comment...
i found only *one* file that not causes this bug, so on every other file it
continues to freeze. (when invoke via nautilus and the sidebar thingy)

after applying all updates from the last two days, this behaviour is gone! i
used the () because the fact that there were no video related updates as far as
i remember.
