I would re-dub the bug report to an Anjuta bug. The meld issue is
https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/meld/+bug/2558 which was
fixed in Dapper already. And Anjuta doesn't use the standard gtk file
selector.

Thanks for considering this "minor" bug!
The association does not appear in the properties tab, nor does it
appear in the context menu, which only proposes "Open with", from which
I can choose an application.

As of version 2.13.5-0ubuntu2, gnome-screensaver-command --poke does the
correct thing and pops up the password dialog.
Still, --deactivade unlocks the screen, but that would be a different
bug (if it is a bug).
