Hi!
Downgrading to xserver-xorg-core 2:1.19.6-1 fixes the issue completely.
Removing xserver-xorg-video-intel had no effect.
Thanks,

Well I seen a black area once, but this might have been something
different. They issue does not appear to happen when I disable compositing
in KWin with Alt-Shift-F12.
If you wish I can put this bug upstream at freedesktop.org.

Hi Cyril!
Could you an upgrade of the xserver-xorg-video-intel package to include
at least the commit mentioned by Chris Wilson (on bugs.freedesktop.org)?
Then I could easily test whether that fixes the reported issue.

Hi Cyril!
Any change I can poke you again for an even never GIT snapshot?
I consider it fair to demand "do it yourself" ;). I can have a try myself
with the instructions you gave in bug #631516…

Hi Cyril!
Building a new package worked marvellously thanks to your instructions.

I would like to switch to OSS driver with when I create a Wheezy image for it,
but I can keep it at the proprietary driver as well.
The Wheezy I tested this on I upgraded to from Squeeze.

Hi!
I think the blank screen is due to a BTRFS hang bug in kernel 3.15 and 3.16.
BTRFS hangs then, processes go into D State, screen blanker wants to access
harddisk unblanking and hangs then to.
Feel free to close.

With the new driver version 1:2.1.2-5 and EXA enabled X.org shows a

When EXA is switched off - like before - the driver display KDM login

I think ideally the debconf script for xserver-xfree86 (and also

Hi KiBi,
According to Chris Comment on the upstream bug report commit
a5a36d9b158a317daa1cf10a6b6ed2bed6b22750 fixes this issue.
I didn´t test it yet. I´d rather be lazy and wait for an updated mesa
package in order to test it.
Thanks,

Hello,
I think the 3D part of my bug report really is bug #393266. The 2D
part is fixed by not using "exa", so I think this bug can be closed, while
bug report #393266 should be dealt with prior to Etch release.
