Hi,
I have applied the patch suggested by Ehimika and now it seems to get

Hello, Brice. I think you have a typo there, as is 'kdrive'.

Hi,
Same with this version.

I have *sometimes* this problem.
I do '/etc/init.d/xdm stop' and the system thinks XDM is not running so
it can't stop it (but it's there in tty7 and it works).
And sometimes, '/etc/init.d/xdm stop' works but when I go in tty7, I
have something like "ÉÇÔZÈKËÄÅ" and I cannot go to the others tty.

That seems very likely.
I suggest switching back to the console with Ctrl-Alt-F1, login as
root then save /var/log/Xorg.0.log and look into it.

The laptop doesn't have DVI, and the monitor is functioning in Another
Operating System. I tried 1024x768 previously (60 Hz I think), it has
the same effect on colours.

I can confirm that some taps are not registered. I didn't notice this before

And i can confirm that this hack fix this problem as well.
i really don't know this problem could be properly fixed.

It could be related to the monitor having a "preferred" mode. The new
Intel driver chooses this one by default if it exists. Ple

This bug looks similar to #427811, and #431373. Sorry, I had
originally thought this was an iDesk problem and did not look at the
xserver-xorg-video-intel tickets. Maybe it should be confirmed that
the other reporters are using a framebuffer virtual console.
Thanks,

If I add the kernel parameter
acpi_sleep=s3_bios
the symptoms go away (i.e. no more bug to report).
I don't know if this counts as fixed or not.
