In fb/fbpict.c, there's a function fbHaveMMX that uses inline assembler,
and appears to check for a 486 before trying to use CPUID. The Cyrix
chips support CPUID, but it's turned off by default (!!), so trying to
use it here makes

used instead of /usr/bin/X. But /usr/bin/Xorg is not suid root.
Thus it is inpossible to use startx & co to start x as a user.

I have the same issue on my D610. DRI fails to initialize.
Comparing I830DRIRec definition from xf86-video-i810-1.5.1.0 and Mesa-6.4.1,
the former has the extra:
drmSize rotatedSize;
drm_handle_t rotatedbuffer;
Hence they would be different in size and uncompatible.
