xfonts-utils depends on libxfont-dev which should be sufficient to
build. Although libxfont-dev depends on libx11-dev, it's a versionless
dependency which means that it can be satisfied with X.org 6.9.0 series.
Perhaps this bug should be moved to the libxfont-dev package?

Hello, everybody.
I'm having the same problem. I'm using the same chipset (SiS 630) but
not on a laptop.
I'm using xlibmesa-dri version 6.9.0.dfsg.1-4 (the version in the
testing distibution).
I get the same kind of error in the development (pre-cvs) version of

I've pretty much come to the conclusion that I have to downgrade my system to
6.8.2 to overcome a few problems (primarily x.org buzilla id 5443). But now I
can't find xserver-xorg 6.8.2 anywhere.
I seem to recall a server that contained old Debian packages. Or failing that
does anyone have xserve

This is my first time trying to build local X packages. I seem to be running

Hi!
Yesterday, I tried installing the modular stuff from experimental to
test it - and try to empty /usr/X11R6.
Problems:
X wouldn't start at all. startx just returned
xinit: Server error.
X wrote nothing on console or in logfiles and just exit 0
After some more looking into it, the /etc/X11/X
