I get the same kind of error in the development (pre-cvs) version of i810 (v1.6.13):
$ glxinfo name of display: :0.0 ERROR! sizeof(I830DRIRec) does not match passed size from device driver libGL warning: 3D driver returned no fbconfigs. libGL error: InitDriver failed libGL error: reverting to (slow) indirect rendering display: :0 screen: 0 direct rendering: No server glx vendor string: SGI server glx version string: 1.2 It prevents hardware rendering so opengl apps work, but slowly. The i810 developer says (https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4353#c140) I need the latest i915_dri.so, from MESA CVS. Maybe its the same for sis?
