I filed this bug a long time ago. I just checked my saved copy of the test page, and while it still gives mozilla fits, it doesn't cause X to crash. I am now using xserver-xfree86 4.2.1-8, with the same hardware, driver, and configuration. I can close the bug if you don't see any other reason to
