Hi Stian,
I just fetched cvs head of driver/xf86-video-ati and used the debian
diff.gz to build a debian package out of it. However I had no luck, the

So if I use Xorg 7.0 from experimental and build the ati-driver from cvs
I should be fine again?
Maybe I'll try that next weekend and report here.

Hi,
I don't have Debian on this computer, but I'd like to note that on
Ubuntu, I only need to downgrade xserver-xorg-core to get my
dual-head/xinerama working again. It's _not_ the radeon driver that's
the problem.
Of course, the Debian bug might be a totally different problem, but I
doubt it.

Hi,
I have noted that X believes that the second monitor is alive; the
desktop is sized as if both monitors were working. I can move the mouse
cursor to the secondary monitor (blinking "No signal") and I can also
move windows to the secondary monitor. It's tricky to move them back
into view, thoug

#332548, #345509, and #345839 should probably merged.
Since I don't pretend to understand anything about X servers I hesitate
to do it myself though ;)
Oh, me too BTW... but as so many people before have sent in their
logs and confs I guess mine wont make any difference.

Hi
I have currently the same issue using the radeon 7000.
It was working fine on Xorg 6.8.2 and now on 6.9.0 I get a black
screen on my 2nd monitor..
do you have a work around?
Thanks

I have struck the exact same problem. Starting X.org 6.9.0 from unstable
with the good old dual-head setup that has worked since xfree86 4.3
(slightly modified on x.org transition) brings me a dual-head sized
desktop, but a black s
Option "IgnoreEDID" "true" doesn't seem to change anything. The monitor
still powers down. Just to clarify, X is operating in dual head mode,
since I can move the mouse off my laptop screen onto the dead one...it's
just that the external monitor is not powered on.

Michel,
Yes, the monitor supports it.
Here is the scenario:
It works fine under 6.8.2 (from Debian unstable). Upon upgrading to
6.8.99.900 (experimental) the configuration is broken. NB: No
configuration files are changed, therefore running "apt-get install
xserver-xorg/experimental" breaks my s

Note that my graphics adaptor is actually a Mobility 9000, not a 9200 as

Sorry, reportbug attached the wrong Xorg log (I was testing on
display :1). Here is the correct log.
An additional comment: From the log the external CRT appears to be
detected, however, once X is started in dual-head mode the monitor
reports no signal.
