As far as the bad initial video mode choice of 800x600 goes, that's the
x server's decision, and I've argued that it's wrong, but had no luck.
Your VGA doesn't actually advertise 1280x768, so it's not included in
the mode list, but you could add it using xrandr.

Also, can you explain what exactly you mean by "can not be moved further
right" -- you mean your window manager just doesn't let you drag windows
that far because it thinks the edge of the screen is there, or that
something bad happens then y

fencing issues. Several of those were fixed in the 2.8.0 driver.
Also, you filed against 2.7.1 of the 2D driver, but your log shows 2.3.2
in use.
