Some windows do not change their frames to indicate that they are
active when I switch to them with Alt-TAB or the mouse. They respond
normally to input, so it's only the visual indication that is
missing. The frame remains

I get this crash on login, too. I also have some keyboard options set
in /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd/options:
altwin altwin:metawin,compose compose:rwin,ctrl
ctrl:nocaps,Compose key compose:rwin,altwin
altwin:super_win,grpgrp:alts_toggle
I did not test whether it crashes without these

I just tried that with the experimental driver and it doesn't help,
i.e. by adding this option and disabling AccelMethod XAA all fonts get
unreadable again.

I have G965, and the driver from experimental doesn't fix the problem for me.
