Hi,
I'm using X.org on an nvidia card(Nvidia Go 7400) on my laptop.
There are two ways to work around this bug.
1. Use the 'nv' driver
2. In GNOME go to Desktop > Preferences > Font and choose "Subpixel
Smoothing (LCD)" .
This looks more like a nvidia (binary) driver issue.
