the above mentioned page seems to be slightly out-of-date. Some ideas:
(1) The download location http://people.debian.org/~rmh/gnu/ in the
"Cross Install" section was reported to me at debian-hurd to be
out-of-date and another location was posted:
ftp
I would suggest adding a link to the Debian package
search at:
http://www.tuxfinder.com/debian
It's not quite packages.debian.org, but gives me 95%
of the functionality I use on a day-to-day basis.
Almost no one knows about it, and almost everyone I
know is ripping their hair out because of the
Package: www.debian.org

I got some news over the mailing list, but the last one on
www.debian.org/News/ is from the 2nd of december.
And while testing some mirrors, I saw that
http://www.br.debian.org/News/index.en.html is still stuck on the 10th
of November.
