I just uploaded mapserver into the debian archive. It is now waiting
in NEW. The package is based on the content in the Debian GIS CVS
repository, https://alioth.debian.org/projects/pkg-grass/>,
initialily maintained by Thomas Sondag.
These are the packages generated:

focussing on more promising options for my needs, but as it was
the last time I looked at it, the problem is not finding an
uploader, rather with finding someone who'll take the time with
upstream to turn a rather successful hack into
