If I do, in a xterm or in a console sesion, "man grep" I see the help
about "grep". That's OK.

Here is my problem:
I just installed an Debian 1.3.1 linux box. During the intalling
procces I choose the options apropiate (support to java,suport to my
NE2000 card,etc).
After intalling, the system is OK (I think).
Today I recompile the kernel 2.0.29 and here is when problems arose:
why Debian 1.3.1 includes kernel 2.0.29 and not 2.0.30 (that is in this
Debian 1.3.1 but don't is preselect the first time that I install the
system).?
Is there any problem whith 2.0.30 kernel?

Hey everybody... I've got Sarge loaded on my laptop, and it's working
great. Here's my problem:
1. When I unplug the power cord, the laptop freezes up. Plugging it
back in doesn't help. How do I fix this?

Laptop is a DeLL Latitude c610. It happens when x is running, and when
I booted up in "Recovery Mode" and got to the # prompt. When I was in
recovery mode, and disconnected the power cord, the laptop would not
take input from the keyboard. The cursor just sits there blinking.

On Wed, I upgraded my debian box (unstable) using aptitude and then shut
it down. On booting, it gave me an alert about a disk it couldn't find
and brought up the Busybox prompt. I have /boot as a normal partition
and other partitions (/, /home, /tmp, /usr, /var, etc.) in a LVM group.

I am trying to install Debian GNU/Linux on my PC. I wanted to know
if i culd burn the images that are in formats like .bin, .exe, .bat and use
them for installation. I have access to CD writers only on Windows. The CD
writer software is DirectCD.

memory) and I am not able to find a xserver for this. I tried other Intel

on Linux. But they do have a driver for Lexmark Z32 and linuxprinter.org
says that the same might work for Z22. Does anyone know if this is true , i

What may help is to use the acrobat reader on a linux box to do the
conversion (pdf to ps) or the pdf2ps (or was it a pdftops) from the gs
package. MS postscript drivers are... well, quite specific.
