this, I remember quite a few modules
that changed, and might have given that exact message at boot time.
Check in /etc/modules for any old modules that
aren't working anymore, and change them in that file.
Otherwise, just run modconf. I think modconf works with
.ko modules nowadays.

Just a little hint.. Could you try to post in plain-text format to mailing
lists, as it's the preferred format.. 8-)
You can use disc's or straight download using an apt debian mirror..
5 are shown. When trying to install says latest installed
and older version obsolete..

I prefer tcsh as the standard shell instead of the bash. Why is the
path not set as for the bash? I manualy inserted
setenv PATH /usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/bin/X11:/usr/games
into
/etc/csh.cshrc
Now it works.
Is this a bug or a feature or did I miss something?

I use a /home/users and a /home/friends folder. Users in that
directories cannot access our server via ftp. They get an
530 User doris access denied.
error (wher doris is a sample user). The users that have their
homedirectory in /home can however access the server via ftp.
Whats wrong?

I use Debian 2.0. EDITOR is set to 'emas -nw'. When I want to post
something using rtin, it tell me:

But I don't see any 8 bit character in my posting.

I just installed Debian 2.0 via ftp.
I cannot move up and down in mutt to select individual mails using the
arrow keys (is that the right expression?) in my keyboard. It just
tells me: Key is not bound. A bug or a feature? Under Slackware I
didn't have a problem with that.

To fiddle withe the /etc/passwd file is one way to disable anonymous
ftp. But what ist the 'natural' way? I use wu-ftp.

How can I enable pop3 support in Debian 1.3.1?
I added a line saying:
pop-3 stream tcp nowait root/usr/sbin/tcpd in.pop3d
to /etc/inetd.conf (copied that from Slackware), but in.pop3d seems
not to exist in Debian (checked the Contents-i386 file)
