that.
On such machines running woody, I just installed X 3.3.6 and I could get
1024x768. Of course, with the flicker, etc. headache is assured :-)

Do it the debian way. Add yourself to the cdrom group. /dev/scd0 has

I am trying to install kde3 on my debian machine which is currently
running sarge. As per the docs, I did the following:
1. apt-get --purge remove kde*
2. Included
deb http://people.debian.org/~schoepf/kde3/woody ./
in my sources.list

Performancewise, on my celeron 400 machine, it outperforms xine. Maybe
on a very fast machine, xine and mplayer perform identically. Mplayer
shines even on a lower end machine.
