I upgraded too and had all sorts of problems. Apparently my eximconfig
file was updated automatically during installation, but there were still
problems. The answer for me was to downgr
fault, and as root it does nothing. Manual changes to
/etc/menu have no effect. It used to work fine.
Is there a bug? I do apologise if the topic has already been mentioned
in the group.

told me my port 25 was closed. Somehow I realised that a recent apt
session had not completed. Can't remember what caused the problem, but I
cleared it and apt started loads of configuration. After that I had my
system back to a functional state.

9menu was written as part of the Plan9 window manager, but naturally can
be used alone.

Don't know exactly what did it, but I started xscanimage as sudo root,
then started Gimp as sudo root, then did 'ln -s /dev/sg0 /dev/sga' and
somewhere along the line it all worked and I can now use the scanner as
a regular user

downloaded the newer libstdc++2.8_2.90.29-2.deb and installed it. Once
this had been done, I was able to install libc6_2.0.7u-7.1.deb without

WP. The best one for *colour* is
probably NEC Colormate PS. This will produce a nice colour postscript
document which your usual printing system can process. Don't forget that
the object of the exercise is to simply produce a good ps document - the
actual printer make you select in WP does not

Works great - I have compiled the kernel a few times because,
apparently, this will show up an unstable configuration re. CPU speed
etc..
Just make sure you get a good super socket 7 motherboard and 128 pin
memory which runs at 100 MHz. I have a GigaByte GA-5SG100 with the SiS
chipset.
Take ca
(not even changing
the settings!) and the rate has gone up the next time i have re-booted.
Only ever happened with a RedHat system - don't know why.
What kernel are you using? There are a couple of AMD K6-2 patches
around.

After bringing up your PPP connection, try adjusting the TCP window for
that interface. If I remember correctly, on Redhat 5.2 (at least) you
do that through an ifconfig option (ifconfig ppp0 window 8000?).
Try setting it to 8000.

rt with I had
problems connecting to the correct port at all, then I decided to
downgrade from the unstable version of Junkbuster I had been trying to
use to the stable version (2.0-4) and this worked. I then added the line
you suggested to /etc/junkbuster/forwardfile and wwwoffle kicked in too.

upgraded to the 2.2 kernel, oh hell!!!
Incidently I booted into Windows 98 and the scanner worked perfectly
well.

I have had few problems with drives bought in the last year - my current
drive, a Quantum Fireball EX 6.4 GB, has behaved flawlessly. Maybe it is
