. When I login in as root or any other user X11 seems
to try to start but then flickers and returns to the login screen. If any
one knows how to correct this I would be grateful.
Thanks,

Hi,
I wonder what kind of dhcp
package I need to install to make my network work. There are 5 packages
found at package list for the stable distribution of debian:

Hi,
I've downloaded the winbond NIC
card before. It works fine with my RH6.2. I now switch to debian and
experience some problems while compiling. Here is a brief

supposed to be created when the kernel is compiled. And how do I get
modversion.h? By recompiling the source again or what? I have a
kernel of 2.2.18pre21.
Thanks in advance,

Hi,
I have a (stable) potato rv2,
that's running kernel 2.2.18pre21. Before I upgrade and compile kernel
2.4, is there any thing I need to watch out for? I heard somebody said
that some modules, headers path, whatever, have to change. Can someone
give me some guidance?
Kevin
Does anyone know if SmartLink 10/100TX Fast
Ethernet Adapter (I think it's also Realtek RTL8139) is supported by
Linux? If so, the name of the driver please.
