(there was a known problem in 4.0.7). The version of php4 that dselect
says I have installed is 4.0.100-1.
Thanks!
Jen
The version of php4 that's part of Woody says it's 4.0.100-1. But
phpinfo() shows it to be 4.1.0 rc2.
Why the difference in version numbers?
Thanks!
Jen
Hi,
My name is Jen, and I'm new to the list. I've been playing with Linux on and
off for about a year, but have only recently found a distro that meets my
accessibility needs (Debian unstable). It's also a great learning tool :P
I need to build some packages from source, an
f not then what's the
process for making it appear in the list of kernels in /boot/grub/menu.lst?
Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks,
Jen.

Hello,
I can't read your message. I'm not sure if its because of the screen reading
software I'm using, so could you send it in plain text, in case it's my
accessibility software?
Cheers,
Jen!

Hello,
I have the latest version of the Kernel package installed, and have grub2.
Can you please tell me what I need to modify in order to get my machine to
boot from the 2.6.32-4-i686?
Thanks,
Jen.

removing files related to sudo, but can't (with rm or shred);
Since I broke sudo GDM will not work.
Please help me to figure this out, as I don't want to reinstall my entire
system.
Also I will need very step by step instructions, as I am quite new to Linux and
Debian.

Jen.
well, bzip2, which gets installed in
/usr/bin. Is this what configure is looking for? If so, then I'm not
telling it how to get it ... at first, I tried the command as it is
below. Then I tried changing it to --with-bz2=/usr/bin. Both return the
same error.
Any help would be appreciated!

hi there we can ourself but we can not see each

I've been trying (since yesterday) to send a couple of posts to debian-user and
they haven't been showing up! I subscribed a while back and have been getting
mail to my inbox, but my own posts have not appeared. I wonder if any kind of
filtering is going on?
Ok, that post made it. I'm sorry to bother everyone with a "test" post like
that. I feel so stupid today.
I am having a big problem getting my printer to work in Lenny. I just upgraded
from Etch where it was working perfectly. It's a LaserJet
with a parallel-to-USB cable. I think the problem is
processing" forever, and nothing is actually
sent to the printer until that module gets reloaded.
Is there a way to make it automagically reload when a USB printer goes on?
Or is there another fix to this problem?
I appreciate the help. This has me stumped!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Jen
This problem is not isolated to ehci_hcd. I am able to print with just ohci_hcd
or uhci_hcd, but in either case the module has to be loaded AFTER the printer
is on.
There must be a simple fix to this. Can anyone help?

'd also like to know if this is a bug or if I just did something wrong. And is
there a better place to ask this question then debian-user or am I at the right
place? I appreciate any help or guidance since I am not a technology oriented
person.
Thanks,
Jen
