I do not know what has happened but I no longer have my debian menus. I
have uninstalled and reinstalled the menu package to no avail. The last

I am thinking about upgrading my firewall hardware soon and along with
that I was thinking of installing Debian. It is running FreeBSD along
with many other applications but my question is, can I use ipfw instead
of iptables? I do not know how to use iptables or ipchains but I am

I have a problem that I cannot find the resolution out there for. I am
trying to set up postfix for smtp-auth on a Debian Sarge system with
2.6.8-2-386 kernel. I think I have saslauthd set up right because this
works:

t the link in /var/run is
removed and saslauthd does not start until I recreate the link. Is
there a way to maintain this link or a better way to get around the
postfix chroot so that everytime I reboot saslauthd starts correctly?

in users home directories because in my environment users cannot log
into the server nor do they have home directories. Spamassassin prefs
are in LDAP.
