I have a PC with built-in ethernet support. When I installed lenny, I didn't
have network connectivity (I didn't have my external networking hardware
yet), so I just chose "no network" to make the installer stop pestering me
about ethernet detection, updates and so on. The installation went fine

How should i set Thunderbird to work with local mail :
for instance Kmail know's how to access /var/mail/username and get
messages from there.
I tried to search an option inside thunderbird (icedove) but didn't
found one.

I found an old nokia 5100 phone in my garage and realized that it can
be connected to a computer.
i ripped the screen out and found out that there are 9 pins that

I wish to have sevral exim4's in my network (while each has it own
purpuse on diffrent machines).
for now each exim can send mails to internet sites or to it own users

I wish to create a Debian an image that can be dd'ed into a hard drive.
So for instance if i have a mulfunctioning hard drive i could put other disk
and just use dd to put it on.

I created an image using simple-cdd and tested in qemu.
It worked fine (all went as it should).
When i burn it on a cd and reboot from it :
the image stuck saying :
"Uncompressing Linux... OK,booting the kernel"
if i press alt+f4 i can see the logs (but can't see any errors).

if you have a need to post files (copy extra files ) inside shell scripts
(for instance when you use simple-cdd ) you can use real cool gnu tools :

uudecode
Reading there man files and googling abit gave me the next :
this will compress the directory contents , and create a script that

but there is no /dev/ttyAM0 interface so i could use it with kmobiletools
