h' setting you use in modules.conf can let you specify the location
of modules for different kernels. This setting can be dynamically set based
on the kernel version. So multiple modules.conf files aren't needed.

Does anybody know how ifup knows to run either pump or dhclient to configure
via dhcp, even if you have both clients installed? I can't seem to locate
any kind of configuration file that specifies this to ifup.

That file only specifies which interfaces should be configured via dhcp. It
doesn't tell ifup what command to use to actually do the dhcp configuration.

I'd like to set up Postgresql so that users can have "read-only" access to a
database. Right now, I only know how to set it so a user can have all or
nothing access by adding something like the following in the pg_hba.conf
