can't get VMWare workstation to work
on my Debian machine. He did not seem to care.
So it would be great if someone could share experiences with VMWare
working in Debian.

Fresh woody install on a 20 GB hard drive and partitioned my drive this
way after reading the recent partitioning thread on this list:

The only thing I have done is install KDE 3.1 and OpenOffice.org and now
/usr is 96% full. (

I did apt-get install apcupsd on my Debian Woody box
and made appropriate changes to the apcupsd.conf file.
The program starts fine, I see apcmain, apcnis, apcser
running, and I can do apcaccess status so I am communicating
with the UPS. But when I unplug power NO warning messages are

Iceweasel is telling me that I have a missing plugin, the JRE, which
I need for a course. I have downloaded jre-6u1-linux-i586.bin (which
is the appropriate plug-in), but:
(i) is this the best thing to be using on a Lenny/Sid system
