When I boot my Debian laptop, the scrolling text shows cardmgr (with options listed) trying to start I guess.... but cardmgr does not really start.
I have to open a shell, su to root, and type "cardmgr". Then my wireless NIC beeps and gets a DHCP address and all is well. But this is very annoying as I would like it to just come up on its own on bootup. So I did this command: grep -r cardmgr /var/log |less and can't find that message that scrolls by on bootup. BUT this was found in /var/log/syslog : Dec 4 06:55:39 debian cardmgr[695]: watching 1 sockets Dec 4 06:55:39 debian cardmgr[696]: starting, version is 3.2.1 Dec 4 06:55:39 debian cardmgr[696]: socket 0: Intel PRO/Wireless 2011 Dec 4 06:55:39 debian cardmgr[696]: executing: './network start eth1' Dec 4 13:07:00 debian cardmgr[696]: executing: './network check eth1' Dec 4 13:07:00 debian cardmgr[696]: executing: './network stop eth1' Dec 4 13:07:00 debian cardmgr[696]: exiting So this is where I do it manually. Started at about 7am and shutdown at 1pm. Where could that scrolling text on boot up be? I can't find it. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
