This is total FUBAR! I figured out that there is no ls command under /
bin !
Trying to scp over from another server only leads to an error message
that I don't have the proper permissions, although I am root. BTW, I
have tried to do it from this server as well as from another server.

Whenever I install packages within aptitude view, it will hang after the
package installed. I have to close the terminal(urxvt, gnome-terminal) to
kill aptitude after that.
But the apt-get works fine in terminal.
Was there issue of building the view in aptitude after new packages
installed?
